A Fun Birthday Weekend!

We enjoyed a great weekend celebrating Dylan's 4th birthday! Russell's parents, Joana & Marisa came in town on Thursday night to visit. So that made his birthday even more exciting!

On Dylan's birthday, he had preschool that morning. Afterwards, he went with Russell to run some errands and pick things up for his little party that we were going to have on Friday evening. But Dylan just could not understand why it was his birthday, but no cake until the next day. So Russell let him pick out a little cake to eat that day. His only concern was that it have a "4" on it!! It was so cute that he was so excited about everything this year.

We had church that night so we decided to give him his drums before church. The drums were from my parents and us so they came over and secretly set them up in Dylan's room without him knowing. We then told him to go to his room to see his birthday present. This was the look on his face when he saw them!!!! Very excited!

He didn't know what to think. It was so funny! He went straight over to them and starting playing. I think he played for a solid 30-45 minutes until we had to get ready for church!

Russell's family came in that night so that finished out a very exciting birthday for him! On Friday evening we had his "Cars/Lightning McQueen" birthday party. It was just family but we had a great time. He was showing off his new age while admiring his cake.

Here he is blowing out the candle!! Such a big boy, he was having a blast!

Now it's Monday and I am exhausted! During the excitement, we had to take our little Maddox to the urgent care yesterday to find out that he has croup! This is not the first time he has had it, so we knew what to do. But you just hate for your little ones to be feeling rough. He is getting better, thanks to the steroid they put him on. We actually got decent sleep last night after not having any for the last couple of nights. Whew! the weekend is over!! Hope it was great for everyone!!!

Happy Birthday, Dylan!!

Today is Dylan's 4th Birthday! I cannot believe he is already 4. He is such a little man now and we are very proud to be his parents. I will share pictures later of him getting his new drums for his birthday - we are giving them to him a little later today. (Shhh - don't tell him!) We asked him earlier today what he wanted for his birthday and he said "drums". So he is going to be very excited!! He had preschool today so we sent special cookies for snack. We did guitar cookies - Dylan thought this was really cool! We are doing a small party tomorrow night - just cake & ice cream with Cars Lightning McQueen (every boys dream!!) plates, napkins, etc. So hopefully it will be a special birthday for him! Here is a pic of one of the guitar cookies - yummy!

What Was I Thinking?!?

Do you see these really cute snowmen made of bananas on a skewer? Well, I decided to make these for Dylan's preschool class for snack today. In the madness, I took a moment to snap a picture to remember what happens when I try to be creative! He is learning about shapes this month so we decided to make snack time a little more fun. But I have to say cutting up fruit and putting them together at 7:30am with a 4 year old and almost 2 year old (Boys!!) helping was quite a task! Oh well, hopefully the kids enjoyed them today. Dylan had fun helping so I guess it was worth it!

Biker-Boys!!

We decided to play outside today, considering it will be pretty cold the rest of the week and through the weekend. It was chilly out but the sunshine made it feel nice to be out instead of cooped up in the house. I can only keep these two boys inside for so long!!! So we decided to take them to the church park-in-lot to ride their new bikes. Here are some pics of us enjoying the nice day!

Dylan did pretty good considering this was his first "real" bike ride. He was a little scared but got the hang of it pretty fast. He was happy to say "cheese" for the camera!

Maddox, on the other hand, sat on his bike for maybe a minute. He was over the bike ride pretty fast and was happy to just explore the area on foot!
A picture of my three boys enjoying the day!
