It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

I LOVE Christmas! And children make Chrismas so much fun. They get so excited about the lights, presents, trees & of course the real reason...as Dylan says, "It's Jesus' birthday!"

This past Friday, Dylan's preschool had a Christmas play. Dylan was so excited and happy to perform. I think he is going to be our little performer, for sure! He will be singing this Sunday at church for our Christmas service, so more pictures to follow..... ;)

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas season!

Home for the Holidays

There's nothing like spending time with family. We went to Kentucky to visit with Russell's family for Thanksgiving and had a great time. Russell's dad just recently finished building a beautiful cabin on their hunting property. So, we had Thanksgiving dinner at the new cabin. The guys (& some of the girls) went hunting while the rest of us stayed back in the warm and cozy cabin. Of course, just getting to spend time with them was great! Here are a few pics of our week.

This is Papaw & Mamaw with all the grandkids. Papaw requested they be dressed in camo and he wants this picture in the cabin. I think they looked pretty cute!
My boys....

We also had Christmas with his family while there because we always stay at our home for Christmas. This is a picture dressed for "Christmas" night.

Dylan & Maddox all bundled up in the cold weather.

I hope you all had a very Happy Thanksgiving and hope you enjoy the Christmas season!

Just for you Morgan...

My sister, Morgan, said I needed to update my blog. So here's an update: I'm terrible at keeping up with my blog, but I promise I will post some pics later of the last month. I decided to post a picture of my sister and me. I love her very much. I prayed for her when I was a little girl, and I'm so thankful God answered that prayer. I love you my beautiful little sis! :)

Busy little bee

So, I'm not so good at keeping up with my blog...but I have been busy. Anyway, here are a few pictures from the last month. Starting off we had a chance to take the boys to the World of Coke...
Dylan wanted a picture with the guitar!
Maddox posing in front of the assembly line of Coke bottles.

Then, we made a quick, weekend trip to Kentucky to visit with Russell's parents. This is Dylan enjoying the tire swing at Papaw & Mamaw's hunting property.

Maddox's turn!

And then, this past Friday, Dylan had his first guitar lesson with Ben Phillips. He goes to our church and does the music lessons for our church school. Dylan was very excited, so we hope this goes well....we'll see! He's our little musician.

Well, that's just a very short version of the last month. So much more went on, but I will have to post later! Hope your having a great week!

Back to School...

Well, summer is almost over and kids are back in school! Dylan started K-4 Preschool this past Wednesday, so I have some pictures of his 1st day. He will go Monday, Wednesday & Friday this year from 9am-12pm. He had a great 1st day and is very excited about school this year. He is growing up so fast!

Heading out the door on his 1st day!

Check out that big smile - he was so excited.

Very proud of his backpack - doesn't he look so grown in this picture? :(

"One day I'm gonna be big, just like my brother!"

Hope everyone is having a great school year so far and enjoying the beginning of the beautiful fall weather!

Paxton has arrived!

My younger brother, Scott, and his wife, Jana, welcomed their baby boy into the world yesterday at 11:55am. His name is Paxton Louis Floyd. He weighed 8 pounds, 14 oz and 20 inches long. He is healthy and doing great! Mommy is doing great also. Our family is very excited to have our newest baby boy. This makes the 5th grandson for my parents - no girls (yet!). Here is a couple of pictures of the cutie-pie....
He just had his bath and they brought him back looking like a little glow-worm! :)
Congratulations, Scott & Jana! We already love Paxton so much. Dylan is calling him "my baby cousin Paxton". I can't wait for Dylan and Maddox to meet him!

We're back home....with LOTS of pictures!

So, we just got home on Saturday night from a whole week at the beach. We had so much fun, just relaxing and spending some much needed time with each other. Russell's parents and two of his nieces, Chelsea and Megan, joined us for the 1st part of the week. We had SO much fun hanging out with them! Then from Wednesday to Saturday it was just us four. Of course, I have a picture overload, as I like to call my blog. We went to Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. It is just outside of Destin. Very pretty, but we had to walk LOTS of stairs up and down to the beach. But overall, very nice beach and we liked the beach house (that is what Dylan called it).

Maddox wasn't so sure of the beach. He didn't like that his feet sucked down in the sand each time a wave came through. But he got used to it pretty quick and had a great time....

This is a picture of Russell's dad & mom with the grandkids.

One of the only real smiles Dylan gave me while taking pictures. This was taken while playing putt-putt golf. He's such a cutie!

Daddy and his boys...Dylan and Maddox have on the beach outfits that my friend, Dana Fain, made for them. I thought they were adorable!!

Mommy and her lil' angels!

Enjoying the sunset....

Finally got a good one, not punching each other...lol!

The next few pics were of our last night. We went walking around Seaside (a little town nearby) lots of little shops and restaurants along the beach. We had so much fun. We ate at Bud & Ally's, we sat outside on the deck beside the beach - it was great - live band, the boys LOVED it!

He was totally excited about his shirt having a "D" on it!

Where did August go?

Hello everyone, just letting anyone who follows my blog know that I am still here but we have been crazy busy! I am currently on vacation with my family in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. We have been having a BLAST so check back for lots of pictures! When I logged on, I couldn't believe my last post was July 26, what happened to the month of August? I can't believe it is already August 21!!! I have enjoyed slowing down this week, enjoying my family, and not worrying about keeping up with the fast-paced life we all have. So, we are driving home tomorrow and I will be uploading lots of fun beach pictures. Hope everyone has had a great week (or month actually)! ;)

VBC 2009

Last week we had VBC (Vacation Bible Camp) at our church. We had so much fun! Here a couple pics of Dylan and Maddox having a great time.

A little late.....

I realize that I haven't posted in a couple of weeks, but we've been pretty busy around here. We had VBC at our church all last week (and I will post a couple of pics of that later). Anyway, Russell and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary last Friday, July 10! In some ways, it seems impossible that it has already been 10 years, then at times our wedding day seems sooo long ago. We had already celebrated by going on a cruise back in April, so we kept it simple by going out to dinner at Olive Garden (which is where he proposed because that was our favorite restaurant when we were dating - hilarious!) Then the next day we went to Six-Flags by ourselves (two kids at heart!) We had a blast just spending some time together and really enjoyed our little date night. I posted our lovely engagement picture so you could see why we were so attracted to one another - LOL! I was 19 years old and he was 22 when we got married. We look like we were about 12 in this picture!

I'm truly thankful God blessed me with a wonderful husband. I was lying awake during the night (thanks to my children who have not been sleeping well at all lately!) and thinking about how proud I am of Russell. In the last year, he has received his local ministerial licence from UPC. He was awarded Salesman of the Year for last year at his job, Frito-Lay. He started back to college, AIU online university, and is expected to receive his associates degree in business November of this year. He does the lawn maintenance at our church for a side job, which helps us financially, so I am able to stay home with Dylan and Maddox. We work together in children's and youth ministry at our church. He is an unbelievable father, a hard worker and provider for our family. With all the daddy/husband bashing in our society today, I want people to know I am proud of Russell and love him so very much!

D-y-l-a-n

The title of this post is what I have been working on with my 4 1/2 year old, Dylan, for probably the last month. He knows how to spell his name, but we've been working on writing his name. So over and over, I'm saying D-y-l-a-n. I bought him this really cool wipe-off board & marker set that has all the letters, numbers, shapes, etc. He loves "working on his letters". So, today our hard work paid off. Dylan wrote his name all by himself. I made a really big deal out of it and he was just so very proud of himself. So I just wanted to share this proud mommy moment with you all!

More Summer Fun....

Well, we had a busy, but super fun week! It started last Saturday, Father's Day weekend. We went to the car show at our church. Here is Maddox enjoying an ice cream at that event.

Then on Tuesday, we decided to go to Six-Flags. We had a great time although it was very hot. Here are a few pics of us enjoying the day.

Daddy loves Six-Flags along with the kids! ;)

Then on Wednesday, we went to Stone Mountain. We had SO much fun. Another hot day, but enjoyed all that Stone Mountain has to offer!

Dylan gives Stone Mountain a big "thumbs-up"!

I love these boys SO very much!

Well, sorry for the picture overload! Hope you are enjoying your summer!

Hot Summer Days

Here in Georgia, the summers are HOT! Yesterday, the boys and I decided to break out the Slip-N-Slide. We had a blast! They didn't want to ever turn the water off, hopefully Daddy doesn't get too upset when he sees the next water bill! ;)

Hope everyone enjoys the HOT, summer days!

Fun in the Country!

We visited Papaw & Mamaw's in Kentucky this weekend and we had a GREAT time. We went to see Papaw's land and his campsite that he has been working on. It is going to be a great place for my boys to camp & hunt as they grow up. Here is a couple of my favorite pics from the weekend. Hope you all had a great weekend!

Maddox's Birthday party pics...finally!

Well, I'm just now getting pics from Maddox's birthday party posted. Better late than never! :) We had a great time even though we were rained out and everyone had to come inside.
Opening gifts, thanks everybody - so sweet!

Maddox has this thing for shoes...he loves them. So he was very excited about his new flip flops and would not let me take them off!

This is how he fell asleep for his nap. He was exhausted! Notice the flip flops...wouldn't let me take them off so I put him down for his nap with them on!

Wooden playground set that Papaw & Mamaw bought the boys! We will be staying outside the whole summer! They LOVE it and we appreciate it very, very much!
